Transparency Register

Anthony Murphy believes in open and transparent local government. To support that principle, this register makes the following information publicly accessible: every instance of advertising, paid or unpaid, including printed leaflets, posters, newsletters and newspaper advertisements, along with details of campaign funding sources and a log of meetings attended in a representative capacity. Each advertising entry has a unique reference URL that may be printed on the material.

Anthony Murphy's Funding Commitment

Anthony Murphy is committed to fully complying with the Standards in Public Office (SIPO) rules on political donations and election expenses. In line with these rules, and as a matter of personal principle, Anthony does not accept donations that fall outside the limits set out below. For openness and transparency, Anthony records the name of every funding source listed here.

  • No more than €1,000 is accepted from any single individual or entity in a calendar year.
  • Cash donations: SIPO permits cash donations up to €200; Anthony accepts cash donations only up to this €200 limit, and anything above must be paid via electronic transfer, cheque or card.
  • No anonymous donations: SIPO permits anonymous donations up to €100, but Anthony does not accept any anonymous donations at all.
  • No corporate donations: Anthony does not accept any corporate donations, even where this would be permitted by SIPO.
  • No foreign donations: SIPO permits donations from Irish citizens living abroad and from certain overseas companies, but Anthony goes further and does not accept any donations from anyone outside the State, regardless of whether this would be permitted by SIPO.
  • Where a monetary donation exceeds €100, it is paid through a dedicated political donations bank account, and every individual donation above €600 is disclosed on the statutory return to the local authority within 90 days of polling day.
