The Government have confirmed that the Tenant in Situ Scheme is no longer Government policy. This scheme was a Green Party initiative designed to prevent homelessness when a private landlord decides to sell their property.

Originally from Termonfeckin, I grew up in Mell, in the heart of the town. I then spent my teenage years living in Tullyallen. I now live in Monasterboice with my wife Patricia and our two young daughters, Rose and Anna. I went to school locally at Scoil Aonghusa, St. Oliver's Community College, and I studied Software Development at DKIT.
With over 20 years' experience in the technology and software sector, I'm a Product Owner for a successful homegrown Software company. Before working in software, I worked in the family business as the third generation of my family, involved in a well-known local clothing manufacturer started by my grandfather, Eddie Murphy, in the 1950’s
I'm a community and environmental activist. As a volunteer, activist and community organiser, I've spent the past 10 years working to empower my local community and to advance the principles of sustainable development and equality. I joined the Green Party in 2019 and since then have been Chair of the Louth East Meath Greens, along with being the constituency delegate at the National Policy Council. I am a founding member and vice chair of Drogheda Cycling, and I am a founding member and chair of Termonfeckin Sustainable Energy Community.
My academic background is in Business and in Software Development. I am also a musician and have played in bands since I was a teenager
I believe we need to connect the national net-zero ambition to the work being done at a local level. It's time for change, for a green and sustainable future for Drogheda and South Louth.

acres of protected land
Ireland's seventh National Park, and the first new one in 25 years, was established right here in the Boyne Valley. The State purchased the 552-acre Dowth Hall estate, creating the Boyne Valley (Brú na Bóinne) National Park, covering one third of the UNESCO World Heritage Property.
This is fantastic news for Drogheda and South Louth. It protects our biodiversity and heritage, boosts sustainable tourism, and will deliver real jobs to our community. The park includes the 18th-century Dowth Hall and the Victorian Netterville Manor, and is expected to welcome its first visitors in the coming years.

The Dowth lands span from early prehistory through medieval times to the modern era, sitting within the UNESCO World Heritage Property of Brú na Bóinne, alongside Newgrange and Knowth.
The estate hosts species-rich grasslands, native woodlands, and mature hedgerows that are home to dozens of bird and animal species, including endangered species.
Devenish Nutrition's decade of research at Dowth has pioneered grass species mixing to improve water filtration and demonstrate nature-friendly agricultural practices.
Dowth Hall is located in the Boyne Valley, between Drogheda and Slane, adjacent to the Newgrange and Knowth neolithic monuments, right on the doorstep of South Louth.
